Tearless Funeral
By Alvin Benatovich - October 5, 1998
A Mother's gone
Without one word said.
Forever still
Now that she is dead.
Searching for sorrow
and finding none.
This is so bizarre
From a second son.
It no longer matters
That she could find no right
Or that I tried to please her
With all my might.
Now from the grave
Still she tries to control,
I resist being handled
And pray for her soul.
I shall always be
Her guiltfree child
Admitting with honesty
She drove me wild.
