IF I WERE A WIZARD
By Alvin Benatovich - January 26, 1960

If I were a Wizard
With magic well known,
I would make you a Queen
And kneel at your throne.

I'd mold you a crown
From the stars up above,
And build you a kingdom
With a spec of my love.

Around our kingdom
I'd creat an endless sea
And destroy every boat
Just for our privacy.

Then when at last
There were just we two;
I'd summon the moon
And make love to you.

We would be as carefree
As a winging dove;
Our hearts crying out
A symphony of love.

When loves' music
Had ceased to play,
I would hold you close
And summon the day.

The day would prove
As did the night
To be filled with beauty
As the Dove in flight.

This is how it would be
Till the end of time
If I were only a Wizard
And you were really mine.
