Castles
by Alvin Benatovich - March 13, 1960

In castles on high
We talk of life
And belittle mankind
In ignorance of strife.

We of the book
Who know so much,
We of the tender years
That hardships yet to touch.

We the wise
Suspended so high
Have a life to live
Before we die.

Then when the earth
We finally walk
Some measure of fullfulment
Individually well stalk.

But search and chase
As best we may
The most well find
Leaves much to say.

So when in the gray
Now and there
Try not to answer at all
But to yourself be fair.

The false youll meet
No matter where
Let your stand be rigid not
And to yourself be fair.

And self justice
In time is found
When mind along with body
Is earthly bond.
