Mental Abuse
By Alvin Benatovich - July 27, 1998

When a matriarch,
Makes strangers seem kind,
And memories of childhood,
Are better left lost.

For words of support,
To strangers must look,
Memories so painful,
Best put out of mind.

But history is set,
Never to change,
Swallowing past misery,
The future to form.

Stop the trend,
Of remembered pain,
End the patterns,
Of mental abuse.

Live and love well,
For the rest of your life,
Forgeting past pain,
With caring your aim.
