Benjamin, Thomas Brooke b Wallasey 15.04.1929 d 16.08.1995

A founder member and conductor of the Liverpool Mozart Orchestra and the University of Liverpool String Orchestra as well as a violinist, pianist and composer; but finally decided on a career in science, ending as Sedleian Professor of Natural Philosophy at Oxford.  He was awarded the Honorary Degree of DSC by the University of Liverpool in 1993.
