Police: 12 dead in suicide car blast in Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan - An explosives-laden car rammed into a security checkpoint in Pakistan's volatile northwest Saturday, setting off a massive blast that killed at least 12 people and wounded more than 50 others, police said.
The suicide attack occurred on the outskirts of Peshawar on car dealerships big island the day Pakistani lawmakers voted for a new president, underscoring the challenges facing the leaders of the U.S.-allied country.
