Here Is an Excerpt from an Interview with "The Bone" Conducted on November 21st 2001

1. How would you describe yourself? - I would describe myself as a free spirit for the most part.  I am a firm believer in doing whatever the hell you want. I am a humanist.  I don't like the fact that we "have" to answer to people. If you have an impulse, act on it.  If people can't accept it, then either they are envious of you cuz you don't give a rat's ass what others think, or they are too wrapped up in socitey's "standards"

2. What do you like to do for fun? - Fortunately, I am fairly easily amused.  I have a great sense of humor, so I can find humor in places others can't.  Fun things for me aren't specific to one type of activity - it could be diving off a sand dune, diving into a fountain in broad daylight, or walking behind someone and whispering just loud enough for them to hear you, but wonder if they actually heard something.

3. What does Ossifieds mean to you? - Actually, it just kinda happened.  I would be watching the news or something and get pissed at what I saw, and write a group e-mail.  Then Joel asked when the next newsletter was coming.  And Oka actually started doing one and titled his, and that is how Ossified was born - Joel calling it a newsletter and Oka titling one.  I was surprised at how many e-mails I got, from people I have never met, asking to be added to the list.  It was more or less just me venting, but apparently it serves as a form of entertainment for somepeople, and as long as I can bring a smile to someone's face, or get them thinking, then I think I have done them a favor.

4. Why do you have such non conformist views? - I'm not really sure.  I guess it's more or less like this - we are all conceived the same way, and come into the world from the womb of our mothers.  So, why in the blue hell should any one person have the right to hold power over another person? Basically, I don't like some tool behind a desk telling me or my brothers and sisters what is right for us.  Our own flesh and blood can't decide what's right or wrong for us (half the time we can't even tell for ourselves - hence the trial and error process) so why should we follow the advice of a fool we've never met?

5. Music, Booze Food, do you like these things, why? - Yes, I like all of them.

I like booze for several reasons. A good bender can help to reset the system.  Also, I seem to be a bit friendlier when I'm drunk then when I'm sober - I almost seem a bit whimpery when I'm drunk.  Also, I can drink with the best of them, and it's a gratifying feeling when you start early in the day ( I wanna say morning, but some might think I have a problem) and outlast everyone.

I like food for lots of reasons, most of which are common sense.  We can't survive and function properly without food, so that would be one reason.  Plus, being the fitness freak I am, food serves as fuel.  Part of the joy of eating is cooking.  You experiment, take time to prepare and cook, and your reward is a tasty dish.

I love music to the point where it will seem analyticalof me to explain why, but here goes.  I find it simply amazing how a bunch of sounds, arranged in a certain manner, can make experience every emotion in the emotional tickle trunk.  Absolutetly amazing.  It's actually possible to have different music for different moods.  For instance - what I listen to when I work out, I don't listen to when I drink.  What I listen to when I drink, I don't listen to when I'm kicking around the house.  People talk about art (the paint kind) as being deep and fascinating.  Tell me how it is more amazing than music.  Next time you listen to your favorite song, think about why it is special to you, and how that person was able to convey his/her feeelings into a song that touched you.

To Sum Up What kind of person are you? - a walking contradiction - that's what happens when you're born a lefty and your folks convert you to a righty. but you get the best of both worlds.

One last Thing - Is the Glass Half empty or Half Full? - Half full.  Something is better than nothing.  Only a pessimist sees it as half empty - too negative a way to live.
