Title: The Untouchables
Starring: Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, Robert DeNiro, Andy Garcia, and Charles Martin Smith
Genre: Action
Rated: R for violence, I'd assume
Rating: *** (out of ****)

The Untouchables was a film based off of the wave of crime of Al Capone (Robert DeNiro) during the 1930's. Needing help to enforce prohibition, the Chicago police call in a specialist, Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner). After a botched up bust, Eliot heads home, only to run into a crude beat cop, Jim Malone (Sean Connery). Malone talles Ness what it really takes to be a police officer and sends both shame and pride through the treasurey cop. Ness hounds Malone to help him in hunting down Capone, and although Malone has his own fears, he helps Ness out. Thus starts the band known as "The Untouchables".

The first thing to do was get a small team of specialists that can trust each other to keep information inside the group. The police force had become too corrupt and information could get to Capone within minutes through their systems. The next man added to "The Untouchables" was an IRS agent Oscar Wallice (Charles Martin Smith), who knew little about crime and police work, but did think he could bust Capone on tax avation. They then find a hot-shot Italian gunner who tricked his way into the force, Giuseppe Petri, alais George Stone (Andy Garcia). With the full group formed, "The Untouchables" rounded up their men to bring down Capone and make the city safe again.

The Untouchables was an entertaining film with a brilliant cast, especially for the Kevin Bacon game. Kevin Costner was fine, nothing special, and a little upstaged by his fellow performers. Sean Connery was by far the star of the show making the other cops nothing compared to his amazing performance. Andy Garcia was good, but didn't do very much at all. He was left virtually out of the plot and barely said a thing, quite a pity for a man with such talent. Charles Martin Smith, though not famous, held up pretty well compared to his comrade actors and did very well. Robert DeNiro was an amazing Capone and, next to Connery, gave a fine mob boss performance, as he is known to. The Untouchables was given three out of four stars for impressive acting, but lacked something entertaining or capturing for a movie to be revelled in.
