Well, with little to do around the site, I desided to go to the movies. I'd seen Gone in Sixty Seconds already, so I decided to review my choices a bit. Chicken Run or The Patriot. Being a war fan, I chose The Patriot. Good choice. This movie was actually quite entertianing, plenty of fighting, a good storyline, wonderful acting, etc. Mel Gibson was amazing, as usual, and held up the movie quite well. He played The Ghost, a Revolutionary War character that used Native American tactics to catch his enemy off gaurd. The character was based on a true person during the Revolutionary War. The plot of this character, however, was not. The Ghost, a family loving father, refused to fight in the Revolutionary War even though his friends and family were pleading him to. He felt his place was with his family. However, after tramatic family events, The Ghost took his oldest son and enlisted the help of a militia of military forces. This militia was responcible for preventing Cornwallis' approach to Washington from Charleston by taking out travelling supply carravans and ammunition stops. The Ghost's strategy of targetting leading officers first enraged General Cornwallis and a drastic plot insued there after. Though the movie may have been three hours long, it was well worth time. With animation that jumps out and scared the hell of out you, dramatic realization that surprises you it's all just an act, and details from the actual war that were (mostly) accurate. A few downsides in plot and reality, but sill worth the ticket price and time to watch. Bring someone else too; this is a movie where audience reaction holds just as much fun to view as the movie itself!

Sincerely,

Alaay

(P.S. Other such dramatic history movies include Gettysburg, Glory, The Caine Mutiny, Saving Private Ryan, and Amistad.)
