Title: A Few Good Men
Starring: Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, and Jack Nicholson
Genre:  Dramatic Comedy
Rated: R for violent content and drama
Rating: *** (out of ****)

Ok, this movie was basically a filler for time during my last trip to Blockbuster. The decision came down to A Few Good Men, a Robin Williams movie that got horrid reviews but looked good, and 1984. Well, I can easily admit that A Few Good Men wasn't probably the best pic of the three. A Few Good Men is about a navy trail of two officers that were suspected of killing another officer at the American defense base in Havana, Cuba. That's the whole damn plot. Although Lieutenant Commander JoAnne Galloway (Demi Moore) wants to be assigned as the chief attorney for the defense, and she's much better then Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise), he gets the job anyway. She, being stubborn, decides to go with him to the trial.

This movie had very little effect to it. The script was absolutely horrid. The acting, however, was wonderful. That's what gave this movie three stars, the acting. I don't really know if there was a love relationship going on between Jo and Dan (what horrid names) towards the end of the film because it was so poorly scripted, but I assume there was. Kevin Bacon was pretty good playing the main attorney for the prosecution, but he had a bit part. Also, this was Jack Nicholson's big "You can't handle the truth!" movie, and Jacky boy did Jack shit. Besides two rather large monologues and a scene where he sits around and talks a little, Jack Nicholson basically sits out for over an hour of the movie waiting to go back into trail from virtually out of nowhere. And, sorry to spoil the ending, but even though Jack Nicholson kinda turns evil and Dan and Jo foil his plans, THEY STILL LOSE. A Few Good Men deserves a few good script editors before they put that peace of crap into the film business.

Please note that I still gave this horrid movie three out of four stars. I'm not strict enough with this rating system.
