Aklan Scouters:

"It's official!. August 17th, 2002 has been proclaimed Boy Scouts of America Night at the Altamont Raceway. All Northern California Boy/Cub Scouts are invited to attend.

All scouts in uniform will be given free admission ($6 value) on this night. For every ten scouts, one scout leader will be admitted free. There will be a special boy scout flag presentation and the boys will be singing our National Anthem at the opening ceremonies. Altamont Raceway Park will feature the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge on this night.

You will see a great night of auto racing featuring the AC Delco Late Models, NCMA Sprint Cars and Baby Grands on the fastest 1/2 in the west. The action on the 1/4 mile will sizzle as well with Mini Super Trucks, Super Stock sedans, Mini Cup Junior Stars (driven by kids 8-15 years old) and spectator-driven Corporate American Modified. It will be a huge night of non-stop racing action at Northern California's super speedway!

Altamont Raceway will provide a covered group area for eating and special reserved grandstand seating area for the Scouts that would like to be together. Altamont allows one small soft sided cooler (12" or smaller). No glass, cans, and alcohol. Altamont offers very reasonable priced food items from their concession for kids. Lots of them are priced at $2 or less.

Altamont offers a discounted "Family Pass" for all the scout families that plan to attend. 2 adults (13 and older) and 2 juniors (ages 6-12) for just $25. Kids 5 and under are free. Parking is always free.

So be at the Altamont Raceway Park on August 17th for a great night of Nascar Racing and Scouting Family Fun. Go to www.altamontraceway.com for details.

The Altamont Raceway Park is located just off the 580 freeway between Livermore and Tracy California.
