About Us

We as a non-profitable organization named Akatsuki, aims to help kids diagnose with cancer in Sarawak by volunteering and collecting donation via this website we created. This movement was recently established as we become more aware of these individual’s unfortunate condition and we would like to help them make their lives much better, so that they can live life just like other normal kids do. In the near future, we would like to expand our coverage maybe to the whole Malaysia and if possible, with hard-work and time, the world.

Background

Mission

AKATSUKI’s mission  is to provide information and support for children with cancer and their families in Sarawak, to support research leading to a cure for all children diagnosed with this life-threatening disease, to provide grassroots leadership through advocacy and awareness. If possible, we may branch out to the whole world.
While treatment for childhood cancer has improved drastically over the past 38 years of our organization’s existence from less than 20 percent survival to an approximate 75 percent overall five year cure rate, sadly childhood cancer remains the number one disease killer of our nation’s children.
Children face aggressive treatments leaving a trail of devastation for their families. The diagnosis of a child with cancer is often at a time when the family is young and has a limited income. Often there are other small children to care for. Often one parent has to stop working to care for their sick child. The impact of having a child diagnosed with cancer is deeply felt financially, socially, and emotionally by the entire family. The needs are great and since our inception in 2013, AKATSUKI has become a recognized leader both nationally and internationally in the providing pediatric cancer family support. AKATSUKI  adds quality of life to children with cancer by providing them with exciting, positive group activities, so they may once again do what kids are supposed to do . . . have fun and celebrate life!

Objective

  1. To help the Children’s Cancer Fund in Sarawak financially and to avoid it from being closed down in the near future all due to the lacks of funds.
  2. To provide kids whose diagnose with cancer a better life and purposes.
  3.  To spread the awareness to the public about the importance of donating and volunteering to help others who are in need.

Motto

Every child and their family walking the child cancer journey will never feel alone.
