GIZA PYRAMID

The Seven Wonders Of The Ancient World: Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt
The Great Pyramid of Giza was built as a tomb in 2560 BC by the Egyptian pharaoh Khufu and is the only ancient wonder that still stands today in all its enigmatic and breathtaking glory. The 481 foot monument, which lost 30 feet off its top throughout the centuries, was built over a 20 year period with two million blocks of stone, each weighing more than two tons.
The interior has three chambers – the King’s chamber, the Queen’s chamber, and the lowest chamber – and ascending and descending passages. Apart from its sheer epic nature, the Great Pyramid of Giza is a wonder because of the immense thought and building process that went into it, which confirms the advanced knowledge and engineering skills of the ancient Egyptians.

Great Wall of China is a long wall of fortifications which was made by the Chinese states and empires over centuries starting from 7th century BC to protect their areas from the invasion and raids of the various nomadic groups. The wall has been built using stone, brick, tamped earth, wood and other materials. The wall is built east to west along the historical northern borders of china. The several walls built over the centuries by different empires have been joined together by the empires which came later, and the whole structure now spans over a length of around 21,196 kilometres. The majority of the wall that we can see now was built during the Ming Dynasty. The great wall also was used for border control, including imposition of duties on goods transported along the silk route.
