SHORT RESUME OF THE PRESIDENT OF A.I.M.

Haydn Hughes was born on the 13th October 1971 on the island of Barbados to
Hubert and Norma Hughes.

He went to the road primary school and then on to the Valley Secondary
School, later changed to the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive school. He left
high school at the age of 17 and went on to work as a Physical education
teacher at the Primary and high school. He joined Barclays Bank Plc in 1989
in the foreign trade and Current accounts departments.

His interest in politics started after leaving Barclays where he worked for
3 years to work in the Hospitality industry. It came as a result of the
conditions of the workers in the industry. He became the 1st vice president
of the Anguilla Hotel and Allied workers union at age 22. After studies in
Switzerland, England and France, his decision to work for the benefit of
Anguillian was concretized. This concretization was made after being in
Europe and seeing and experiencing real racism and the lack of opportunity
for non-Europeans in Europe, France, and England in particular.

After much reading and studying of British and EU documents, Colonial
Constitutions, and getting an understanding of colonial rule and the lack of
power for the people of Anguilla, he got together with a few young
Anguillians and A.I.M. was created as a result.

Today his main objective as the co-founder and President of A.I.M. is to
help educate the people of Anguilla and of the other colonies/Ots about our
present and future status as non self-governing peoples. He believes that
the only way the people can make the best decisions is to be equipped with
the knowledge to make the most educated choices. He wants people to examine
the facts for themselves and stop listening to the politicians who in his
opinion, only concern is to garner as many votes as possible.

He does not have running for political office on his agenda but does not
rule it out completely. He is of the opinion that it is useless running for
political office, being elected and you cant do the job you were elected to
do and that is, to truly represent the interest of the Anguillian people.

A.I.M.
