As residents of not only a first-world country, but also a well-provided for area such as Cerritos, we should recognize the people who have not been as fortunate and lucky as us. For example, the people who live in third-world underdeveloped countries and under constant fear and hunger. With more than half the world living on less than $2 dollars a day, we should be able to give up just fraction of our daily spending in order to help these people get back on their feet. Oxfam, one of the many non-governmental organizations, helps to alleviate poverty internationally.
