WAVE RESOURCES PATNERSHIP
With the sifting paradigms of waves, we have traveled from
agrarian society to industrial to information society where the focus was on
agriculture, industry & information.
The generic designations of Alvin Toffler’s wave theory portrays
in a conceptual sense the patterns & forces that shape business, economies,
politics, religious, global affairs & social power interrelationships. The
power shift by each of the cresting wave with the span of time has paved way to
new world order that extrapolate one’s imagination about social evolution to be
a responsive society.
Presently the crust of the wave focuses at knowledge,
spiritualism & responsibility. The forth wave as described by Maynard &
Mehrtens (1993), has the emerging trends of re-spiritualization of society,
decline of materialism & scientism, responsiveness in institutions,
redefinition of wealth, emergence of self forgetful service paradigm &
integration of religiousness with science. Where the first wave developed us as
separate & uncommented, the second wave kept us separate but
competing. With the third wave too we
remained separate though cooperating, but the forth wave intends to move to
oneness & co-creating.
The conceptual framework of the Responsiveness wave needs to develop a vision in its approach, methodology, system & management. The present conference is a platform to spectra vision these aspects
RESEARCH ISSUES ON FOURTH WAVE
Social change and education will transform its roles in the
changing scenario of society. We are experiencing the accelerated pace and the
complexity of change. Toffler described that we have moved from hunting to
agricultural to industrial to information economies. Likewise, our management
structures of societies are changing from linear-chain development, to hierarchical-tree
developments, and now to systems-networking. Our political power structures
have moved from tribal-chiefs, to kings, to democracy, to technocracy & now
to responsiveness. All such developments do have deep implications in the field
of education. Evolving meanings of responsiveness towards us, our society &
people around us, with special reference to education. The present conference
is a step to explore this horizons.
