Mamberamo River in Irian Jaya have abundant hydroelectric potential with installed capacity is about 12,284 MW. Preliminary study show that 3 locations : Mamberamo I, Mamberamo II, and Edi Vallen have potential to be developed at the early stages if energy intensive industries were also developed in this region. Utilization of big scale hydroelectric power in Mamberamo River need to analyze all of the development aspects. |
