Strategi Penggunaan Energi di Sektor Transportasi
(Energy Utilization Strategies in Transportation Sector)

Abstract

Recently oil product is a main fuel in transportation sector in Indonesia. Waste gas from combustion of oil product contains pollutant such as SO2, NOx, CO, VHC, SPM and other particles. The pollutants have negative impact to human and the ecosystem if exceed the certain concentration. To reduce the pollutant in transportation sector, energy utilization strategies should be carried out. In this paper, the MARKAL Model is used with two scenarios: Doing Nothing Case (DNC) and Emission Reduction Case (ERC) to make energy utilization strategies in transportation sector. Using ERC scenario, waste gas emission in transportation sector especially NOx, CO and VHC emission could be reduced using this method: fuel substitution from oil product to gas fuel, equipment of gasoline car with catalytic converters, and utilization of diesel engine with low emission.
