Searching for something? Use a Search Engine! A Search Engine is a Web tool that allows the surfer to make a site specific search or a web-based search.  A site specific search is a search done through the indexes of a particular website. For instance, if you wish to look for the members of the faculty of the Colegio San Agustin, you can do a site specific search on this website using this site's Search Engine (marked by the phrase "Search This Site").

A web based search, on the other hand, is a search done through the indexes of search portals like Yahoo, Altavista or Lycos.  For instance, if you are looking for a topic like "WAP" or "Internet lingo" you should search the engine of a search portal.
