The Badger Springs Trail starts near Exit 256 along I-17, just several miles past the Sunset Rest Area, going north. The road runs east to the AFNM, (see entrance location picture above). Follow the dirt road 3/4 of a mile East to the Trail Parking area, (see Map in first below document).
The two big boulders in the picture are Basalt which came from a large nearby lava flow.
