In the confusion and fear of the raid, Anne left her diaries. Miep collected them from the chaos the Nazis left behind in the annex. Anne's well-known diary speaks. Some others also left diaries, and some of those diaries were also saved. Many more people left messages: in letters, in notes thrown out train windows, and they wrote on walls.
