I am a Special Education Teacher for the Burbank Unified School District (B.U.S.D.). I have been teaching for over ten years. I have primarily worked with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am in the process of obtaining my Masters in Special Education and will then go on to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. |

I believe that every student is first and foremost a life long learner and it is my responsibility to facilitate the acquisition of skills needed. Following Vygotsky's "Zone of Proximal Development, " I believe that as an educator it is my duty to create the social environment through which students can develop their cognitive skills. My teaching philosophy also focuses on a Behavioral Therapy approach to learning. The educator should set up the environment in order to create more opportunities of success. As my teaching philosophy focuses on both Vygotsky and Behavior Therapy, I also maintain that data collection from the students is important and vital in order to determine successes and failures and also to determine what the next step will be. |

This website was created for the EED 602 Online class offered at California State University Northridge. The online class provided me with the opportunity to learn how to create a web site, use Microsoft Office Tools such as, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Power Point. I created a letter with watermarks and border; a grade book and a power point lesson. I have also learned how to use "Fireworks", "Flash" and "I-movie." I found the class informative, fun and I am sure that I will use the knowledge gained in the future. |
