Comment is inflammatory Comment is offensive Comment is advertising/spam Hello there from Chtown, PEI writes: Crash - your comment should be put in HUGE FONT on a billboard right before the bridge. This is why the island isn't ready for a two-lane system. The left lane should be used for passing purposes or left turning cars only, but don't expect locals to grasp that concept. As for merging? To some people, allowing someone in front of you is some kind of subservient sacrifice...like yielding to the superior being. Since Compass's usefulness is spent in the first 15 minutes of the broadcast, and that's including 5 of the 100 Apple Auto Glass commercials, perhaps they could commit to a 5-minute segment on driving tips? Islanders aren't necessarily less adept to being ABLE to drive, but the lack of traffic law enforcement and bad driving habits sum up to a really bad driving experience here. If you're not sure about how to use a roundabout, how to merge, how to use a two-lane system, please do the world a favor and ASK. Even the most experienced, confident drivers should never stop asking and learning. It's not a blow to the ego, it's something you can pass on to others, and do by example. Sell My Car For Free I feel like giving $20 bills to people NOT hogging the passing lane. Why those of us who must merge onto to busy streets in Charlottetown are taking their lives into their own hands. I have to merge into traffic everyday. I can tell enterprise car rental easton pa you drivers on University Avenue are the most rude ones that I've come across. In any other city they'd be taken out because of their poor driving. At times when I have carefully merged to go south, the drivers of vehicles in the main lane of traffic either step on their gas pedals or deliberately cut me off. What is wrong with these people and how did they ever get a license to drive a car? I sure wish a few police people where monitoring that street and free car bill of sale printable North River Road. I am sure the City of Charlottetown would have ROOMS OF MONEY in fines; because we have such a bunch of rude and irresponsible drivers. I am amazed they get through town and still be alive? is inflammatory Comment is offensive Comment is advertising/spam Betty from PEI writes: According to The PEI law on driving... The merge line is there to allow cars/trucks to access into the TRAFFIC or DRIVING LANE with care.. Thus meaning that the car/truck/bus in the merge lane, slows or comes to a stop if necessary to turn into the TRAFFIC LANE safely.... The cars in the TRAFFIC/DRIVING LANES *ARE NOT* the ones that need or should be slowing down, nor speeding up.They are the ones that have the RIGHT OF WAY.. The merge car should NOT BE SPEEDING UP to get ahead of the driving lane either.. Speeding is also against the law.... Also when leaving the merge lane first the driver should signal his/hers intention to leave the merge lane, allowing the cars in the driving lane and those following his/her car the knowledge that they are leaving the merge lane..... I am amased that more people do not die because of the. I am the only one that matters on the road drivers here on the Island. How do I know this. I was hit by a Speeding )(merging) driver that argued with the officer that HE HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY coming off the merge... As described by the RCMP Officer,The DRIVING LANE Is NEXT TO THE SOLID CENTER LINE..... The MERGE LANE Is usually on the Out side and off this to the right... Meaning the DRIVING Lane is not the ones that slow down or speed up to break another law.. not to mention Kill some innocent person... If in doubt,Please check with The RCMP, they would rather you ask for your safety and ours than have to explain to yet another family they have lost another member due to a driver who once again has broken the laws while driving on our highways....
