Dear Mrs Barrister Coker,

I apologise for taking so long to return your letter. A sudden labour dispute with some of our unionised mechanics has arisen and I have been up to my ears in work. I would like to know if you can take a cash payment for your services. Currently Northwest Orient Airlines' parent company is in a dispute with the shareholders of Western Union subsidiaries which conicidentaly own a majority share of stock in our accounting firm. I feel that I must avoid using them at this time if I am to avoid any atom of scandal and apparent conflict of interest which may attract unwanted attention from the United States Securities and Exchange Commision as well as the Internal Revenue Service.

Therefore I propose paying you in cash. I have a quantity of United States currency which I have been trying to unload for some time without attracting attention at domestic banks. If I were to send you the money in a package, things would work out well for the both of us since I understand that US currency is frequently used in Nigeria and has the added benefit of not attracting the attention of the tax authorities. I can send this to you via DHL courier. If you send me your details I can see to this straight away. Since my company has a good business partnership with DHL I can see that this is given the highest priority.

On the subject of the legal documents in our transaction, I am wondering how things are going. I hope that the legal system in Nigeria is somewhat faster than in the US. It is hard to get things done here if one does not know a Judge who can rule in one's favour.

Yours sincerely,
