"Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration"
                                                                           -
Thomas Alva Edison

The above saying was probably the first (meaningful) saying I heard. At that time I was in my 5th or 6th grade, my mind still in its nascent stages and eager for all the world's knowledge. I had read to some extent on Edison and for me he was the ultimate, unquestionable genius. I wanted to emulate his achievements and took this parable of his to heart. From then on, I consciously made an effort to put in my best at whatever motivated and intrigued me. That included my academics, extra-curricular activities, sports (interest for which came quite late!) and so on. It was this attitude, combined with my love for mathematics and the sciences, that got me into IIT, arguably one of the best engineering colleges in he world. The experience has been memorable, amongst like minded colleagues, while the training has been nothing short of exemplary. Now that I am in my final semester, I am about to embark on a new phase of life, the challenge of which I am facing with the same energy and Edison's motto as my guiding light...
