Terry: Sorry. Hi, Terry David Mulligan. [To Suzie then viewing audience]
...And these things aren't Near as important as being here with you and bonding with you, and getting through these shows and introducing Craig Northey.
Craig: It's all about getting through...
Terry: It is all about getting through.
Suzie: Good advice --
Terry: --How do you like being up at this hour of the morning
Craig: Ohh. [shrug]It's you know. It's like any other hour really, isn't it? It's all time --
Suzie: --Did you go to sleep last night?
Terry: Did you toss and turn last night thinking *gasp* what are they going to ask me, and what am I gonna wear?
Craig: No. I drooled and...I just slumbered.
Terry: Who did you bring with you to share the pain?
Craig: Oh, I brought Pat...um [points offscreen]...Steward and Doug Elliott.
Terry: Excellent.
Suzie: Perfect.
Terry: Uh. [Looking down at notes on coffee table]We'll do some music and we'll talk to Bruce Allen, uh, down the road as well...
Suzie: Yup.
Terry: Um. [Slaps notes, turns to Craig] I just wanna ask ya about, first of all...I wanna explain...that this is not Odds *anything* ...this, they just happen to be *your* friends...
Craig: These are my friends.
[Terry facing Craig, and it isn't really a question, more a statement by Terry]
Terry: Who were, uh making music with The Odds at one point and...Steven went and did his stuff, and you went and did what you're doing.
Craig: Yup. And so, uh...but they're easy to, uh, snag and get involved in things--
Terry: And you have a short hand--
Craig: --And I know how to manipulate them.
Craig: Huh? [overlapped]
Terry: You have a short hand.
Craig: Yeah, that's right.
Terry: Where you been? You wrote me from Los Angeles, you were -a songwriter-you're a song, you're a songwriter for hire now...
Craig: Yeah, one of those guys. You know...the uh, the secret, uh *cloister* and all that kind of stuff, handshakes and stuff.
Suzie: And you've been working with some: Really.Cool.Musicians...And collaborating and songwriting credits - tell us about some of those dudes and dudettes.
Craig: Well, it started uh,--
[Suzie giggles about her own dude and dudettes joke: "It's music talk!"]
Craig: --It started with uh...as dudettes. As uh. Uh - those are the ones. I'm fond of...[Suzie has the giggles now]. I uh, I started with Roseanne Cash. She asked me to do a song with ...near the end of The Odds and, um...--
Suzie: Right.
Craig: Which is actually coming out now. Uh - in March...and um, then, then other people started asking and I started, uh, getting together with some other writers and my publisher started hooking that up - so...it, Colin James I've worked with a lot with over the last while and --
Terry: Well, you were in the band too, weren't you?
Craig: Yeah, I do that. And uh, so does Pat, and um...uh, who else - Wide Mouth Mason ---
Terry David Mulligan: --The Who! The Who! - The Who! - The Who!
Craig: Yeah---
Craig: Yeah, but that's another story
Terry: ---Why?
Craig: ---It's a good story---
Craig: Well, they had, they were looking for material that they thought well, will get writers that had been influenced by us, and my publisher had a sort of a small stable he figured he could, could cut it...so he said well could you write something, and I...well, it's kinda like writing for Bob Dylan a song or anything like that...or even Roseanne, you know - they don't need it. So I did it, and then they all sat around and listened to them and they picked mine and one other guys', um, Dan from Semi Sonic I think. And uh - but things have changed in their lives since---
Suzie: Yeah.
Craig: ---and so I don't know if it'll ever get recorded! So I put it on my record.
Terry is displaying CD in a long camera close-up
Tell me about - first of all, is that UBC Thunderbird Stadium?
Craig: Yes, it is.
Terry: It is. Because of the [?trees?], right.
Craig: Yeah, that's one of the la--
Terry: ---And what are you doing here? This is a stage move that you've perfected called thee...?
Craig: Yeah. It's a bit of a yoga-ic thing I think.
Suzie: Yeah, we told viewers you were gonna do that for us this morning!
Craig: Do you remember Doug Henning and [?yoga-ic flying?], with the...and you'd sit in the lotus position and,
Terry: ---Yeah, yeah, yeah - that's right.
Craig: And it's a bunch of people...
Terry: Tell me about working with the Kids In The Hall. Was it fun?
[Terry and Suzie lean forward, exited]
Craig: ---Oh,--
Terry: --It must be fun---
Craig: --Oh, it was awesome.
[Terry whipping out the questions by now, Craig had no chance to answer until Terry David Mulligan took a breath. Both he and Suzie are now pumped]
Craig: And the pay-per-view which is airing right now [waves hands to camera] ...if you go, if you have a satellite dish...so go, don't - yeah, watch the tv all day long, but ---
Terry [to camera]: Not now!
Suzie: And you hooked up with those guys, you were musical director...
