Natasha Myers
Crossing boundaries between disciplines is the central theme of Natasha Myers' creative and academic endeavors.  Trained as both a dancer and biologist, Natasha is currently completing a Master's degree in Environmental Studies at York University.  Bridging such disciplines as philosophy, biology, cultural studies and the visual and performing arts, her research explores human relationships with nonhuman others.  Last year Natasha coordinated York University's sixth annual Eco Art and Media Festival, a week-long event that brought together artists, activists and academics to explore environmental issues through multidisciplinary media and art forms.  In April 2000 a series of Natasha's photographs were exhibited at City Hall as part of Toronto's Earth Week celebrations.  Also in 2000, Natasha choreographed and performed with DanceScapes Collective to present a collaborative dance project for Toronto's renowned Dusk Dances festival.  In their first project, Natasha worked with DanceScapes Collective to produced a site-specific choreography for the 1999 Fringe Festival of Independent Dance Artists (fFIDA). The previous year Natasha danced and choregraphed with ish'ness collective presenting new works for the 1998 fFIDA. Over a four year period during her studies at McGill University, Natasha choreographed, performed with and co-coordinated the McGill Contemporary Dance Ensemble.
