Working Paper 99

The famous "Working Paper 99" is submitted at most SPC Regional Technical Meetings on Fisheries. Most of these memorable contributions are now lost to science, but an assiduous search of old filing cabinets has rescued some for posterity.

The authorship of these occasionally scurrilous articles is known, but a discreet veil shall be maintained for the time being in order to protect the not-so-innocent.

• Blind Freddie's Glossary of Fishery Management Terms. Not quite as authoritative as Bierce, but a start. Work in progress. All amendments gratefully received.
• SPC Fisheries Crossword. Abandoned after one issue following complaints that it was either trivial (Private Eye readers) or incomprehensible (everyone else)
• April 1st News Reports. Like RTMF Working Paper 99, most of these have become a legendary part of the ephemeral literature, but not all have been lost to posterity.
