Car Info

My favorite way to get around is in a 1967 Mustang GT 350 (Boss 302). But since I don't have a 1967 Mustang, I drive my 1987 Mustang 2.3 liter hatchback. This is the car that gets me around until I buy Eleanor. I use it to travel between work and home. Besides myself, it carries my guitar , my helicopter , and my CD's . Sometimes I let other people into it as well.

Stereo
The best thing about my car is that it sounds real good. Not, not the engine, the stereo. That reminds me, I need to get the engine fixed. But the stereo is nice. It's nothing that I brag about to the thump thump boys you hear around town, but my music sounds good, and I don't set off car alarms 2 blocks away.
My head unit is a Pioneer DEH-31 (35x4).
From there I send my speaker level outputs to an stock set of 3.5" dash speaker. Behind me was a set of factory 5x7" half blown speakers, but I recently upgraded those to Infinity Kappa 5x7" speakers (572.3cf ).
The pre-amp output from the deck goes to a Audio Control 3XS crossover , and from there to a Pioneer GM-X262 200 watt amplifier. That in turn drives my 12" MTX 4000 series subwoofer (T4124A).
All in all, the balance is great! Like I said, my system isn't a thump system, it's setup to play music closer to what the artist wanted it to sound like (fidelity).

The next steps for this system are to upgrade the dash speakers to Infinity's, powered by my Pioneer amp, one more GM-X262 which will power the 5x7's, both run through the same Audio Control crossover. This will mean that I purchase a new amp for my sub. I don't have anything picked out for my new big amp, but I think that I will stick with Pioneer for aesthetic reasons.
I also plan on buying a Fahrenheit CK-12D 12" Subwoofer .
