Secret Window

Secret window
Mort Rainey (Depp), a writer just coming off of a troublesome divorce with his ex-wife, Amy (Bello), finds himself stalked at his remote lake house by a psychotic stranger (Turturro) who claims Mort stole his best story idea and just changed the ending.

The Film
A strange film to see Johnny Depp in really. But he does typically well in this Stephen King adaptation. The story is simple: "you stole my story", (probably not the kindest words a writer can be told) yet it is surprisingly involving, and the twist at the end puts the rest of the film in a new light (but I'm not saying it's unpredictable). Most of the laughs come from Depp, which isn't really surprising, but at least he's put to good use. Some sinister characters are created that really keep the plot going, if not always in the right direction, throwing the viewer off the scent.
Acting is good, the story is good, in fact, the majority is good, if unspectacular. Overall, an engaging story with some decent scares but some cliched moments.
Film: 7/10
