Norton stars as Jack, a chronic insomniac desperate to escape his excruciatingly boring life. That's when he meets Tyler Durden (Pitt), a charismatic soap salesman with a twisted philosophy. Tyler believes self-improvement is for the weak - it's self-destruction that really makes life worth living. Before long, Jack and Tyler are beating each other to a pulp in a bar parking lot, a cathartic slugfest that delivers the ultimate high. To introduce other men to the simple joys of physical violence, Jack and Tyler form a secret Fight Club that becomes wildly successful. The Film
The caption above does nothing for me. Not the type of film I would go to see. I don't particularly like violence, and there appears to be little plot... How wrong can you be? As I recall, there are only three major fight scenes in the entire film - little violence there. And the plot is (not to go into too much detail to avoid spoilers) intricate. What I love about this film is the dark humour. In fact, it's so dark it's hardly noticable. I love the existential one-liners, mostly by Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), such as "You are not a beautiful and unique snowflake," and "You are the same decaying matter as everything else". Strangely, this film didn't find an theatre audience, and didn't make much money. But the film ran out of shops on DVD. I urge you to see it. And then tell everyone you know.

The DVD
One of the best two-disc sets around. In-depth detail on some key scenes, behind the scenes, you name it. Packed to the brim, this should be owned by everyone, even though it's a love-it/hate-it type of film. Remember, you are not your Fight Club DVD.
