Back to the Future Trilogy

Back to the Future Trilogy
Presented by filmmaking legend Steven Spielberg, directed by Robert Zemeckis, and starring time-travellers Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, the phenomenally popular Back to the Future films are back for the first time ever on DVD! Digitally re-mastered and packed with additional footage and features, you'll be able to re-live the adventure time and time again.

The Films
Back to the Future
Fantastic. Doesn't rely on special effects or cheap and dirty jokes, and appeals to such a large audience. There's not much wrong with that. not much else to say really other than if you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for? I would've given it 10/10, but I prefer Part II, so I've got to hold something back...

Back to the Future Part II
Not a lot more to say than better than the first which I found excellent already. It's great in the future part, not quite so good (but still good) in the alternate 1985, and the 1955 bit is brilliant. Love how they go back to redo scenes from the first. Only drawback - if you've not seen or can't remember the first, it won't be quite as good, or you might be left wondering what's going on.

Back to the Future Part III
Perhaps a disappointing final part, but it's still Back to the Future. Has the same innocence as the others, but (for me at least) the wild west has little interest. They've also brought the complicated plot from Part II down too, which I thought was one of Part II's strongest assets.

Back to the Future Trilogy
Great that they made the trilogy into a complete sequence of events. The only problem is if you've not seen one you'll be a bit lost (but that's your own fault for missing out on such great films). Has a nice innocent feel to it, which is helped by the leading actors. A must for everyone, particularly if you enjoy time travel paradoxes. They've done a pretty good job on the DVDs. The extras are varied and plentiful, and the re-mastering in amazing, particularly Part III's audio. And the artwork looks better on the Region 2 set!

The DVD
They've done an excellent job of re-mastering this (without annoying the fans by doing a Lucas and adding bits in - even keeping in wires that shouldn't be seen when Doc slides from the clock tower...). The sound and video are top-notch, and the extras are plentiful. Everyone should have this, or at least have seen it.

Back to the Future: 9/10
Back to the Future Part II: 10/10
Back to the Future Part III: 8/10
DVD: 9/10
Overall:
