EVER BOGGED A HOUSE?

We have … but we are not bogged down.

The Community of the redeemer at Ashmont in Wagga Wagga has embarked on an exciting new phase in its development.

We live in an area which is economically and socially disadvantaged. We see the way to reach those around us is to walk alongside them as Jesus did. To begin this we are planning to open a Family Counselling unit. So many of the people we contact through Kids’ Club, the School Breakfast Programme, Homework Centre etc are in need of specialised assistance.

We believe that God plans to expand our worshipping community and so we need a larger worship area.

From a worldly point of view, we should be considering closing down. There are not many of us and we are broke!

We can hardly afford our part time Priest. But God has asked us to trust in Him and expand both our dreams and our building. Less than a year ago the fibro house next door to our Centre became available for sale. In 3 weeks, $48,000. In interest free loans was raised and we decided to bid at the auction. This was confirmation that this was God’s will and the building became ours.

The plan was to move this house alongside our existing building joining the two, thus providing rooms for the use of a doctor, counsellor, parole officer and community groups as well as enlarging our present worship space.

The rent from these Service Providers will give future income but at present we are only halfway to completing the building work and the bills keep rolling in!

This makes it difficult to stay focussed on what God wants.

This is the vision we believe God has given us. We know that with God all things are possible. Will you help us to achieve it through prayer support and financial assistance?

If God is calling you to help us financially, please send donations to The Treasurer, Ashmont Community of the Redeemer, PO Box 10, Ashmont, Wagga Wagga 2650.
