While Uxmal is smaller than Chichen Itza, it’s definitely a masterpiece. And there's something very special that happens here. Ancient times will come alive for you if you go to the site on one of the evenings when there's a sound and light show scheduled. It's an unforgettable experience. And it's bound to make your heart skip a beat or two.

The buildings at Uxmal have clean, uncluttered lines, and they're decorated with exquisite geometrical mosaics of cut stone that form very ornate patterns. The Main Temple is called the Pyramid Of The Magician; it's quite dramatic, especially because it's in the unusual shape of an oval. Other notable structures are the Nunnery and the Governor's Palace.
