OUR HISTORY
The Associates of Computer Studies (ACOST)
formerly known as the Association of Computer
Studies is a student organization that is duly
recognized by the College of Computer Studies of
AMA University � East Rizal Campus that
currently has a population of 824 members including alumni and present
members. The
organization was created in the year 1997 that
is exclusively only to the students of BS
Computer Science and BS Information Technology.
For several years, ACOST have been one of Top
organizations in AMA University � East Rizal
Campus. The organization holds annual projects
to provide the AMA-ER students activities such
as seminar, competition, outreach programs and
researches which widen the skills and knowledge
of the members as well as the whole community in
Information and Communication Technology.
Now the organization is getting more bigger and
better since this year 2005, they have opened
their membership not only to the students under
BS Computer Science and BS Information
Technology but also to BS Computer Engineering,
BS Electronics and Communications Engineering and
to BA Management Information System students.
The organization is also taking another one big
step by bringing in the IT industry inside the
campus.
OUR OBJECTIVES
The ACOST shall define and promote the
maintenance of the standards of knowledge in
Information and Communication Technology. to
its members through seminars, trainings,
lectures, and other relevant activities.
The ACOST shall uphold, within its goal, to
produce excellent and competent students able to
cope with rapid change in the field of
Information and Communication Technology.
The ACOST shall uphold the ideas of science by
means of extending its knowledge on Information
and Communication Technology., devote in
making new discoveries, and continue to seek
further means of development in order to
contribute in the construction of a more ideal
world to live in.
The ACOST shall protect and secure the
exclusive rights of its members, support their
property rights, and promote the need for due
recognition for their contributions made in the
field of Information and Communication Technology.
