All Alone is All We Are

Each our own person, lonely and strange.
In a world, full of danger, waiting to betray us.
Our thoughts are our own; opinions are raw.
All alone is all we are.

Friends are companions, temporary and short lived.
Enemies are also, contrast to charity.
We die alone in the large world around us.
All alone is all we are.

A grain of sand, no two quite alike,
Each individual, individual indeed,
a beach of sand, a world of people.
All alone is all we are.

Blue eyes, brown eyes, hazel, or green.
We have many troubles in a world full of danger.
Different are the enemies that wait to betray us.
And all alone is all we are.
