I am very happy to find your site. I was thinking about growing the relaxer out of my hair for a long time. This July will make one year since I've relaxed my hair -- I've been braiding (and did the press and curl thing for a while) in the meantime. Hey, great website. I've been natural for years. I've cut my hair as short as possible and now I decided to grow "locs" i suppose you can call it that. I used the twist for a while. I've only gotten comb twist 2 weeks ago. My hair has stayed beautifully, do however have a problem with growth. My hair grows extremely fast naturally and its also very thick. I work in corporate america and love the reactions from my co-workers. It makes me smile all the time. My sister started dreds last year and got me in erested in going in that direction. It takes a lot of patience to achieve the style you're looking for, I'm still working on my style. Hang in there!!!

Peace. I have worn my hair natural for four years now and would never go back to chemicals. I have cut my hair down to a small afro 3 times w/in four years, and I have found my hair to grow twice as fast. I don't believe that a lot of black women know hat our hair grows faster when it is not processed.

Andrea, I got tired of doing my hair and decided to go Natural as of Sunday. Guess what! I like it. My hairdresser Yari of Enigma cut my hair short two weeks ago. All I did was wash it, condition it, and put some Sebastian Wet Gel on it and got these little c rls all over my hair. My husband loves it and the best part of all, it is easy to do. When I get a chance I'll come by and let you see my new hairdo.

Andrea, I love your website. It is just wonderful and humorous too!!! I have natural hair and know the horrors of trying to keep your hair "did" without the use of harmful chemicals. Right now my hair is going through this, "it only looks good when the hairdresse does it thing." I don't know if it's the shampoo or the conditioner I'm using or if my hair is changing due to the aging process. I would love to do a two-stranded twist or something on that order so I can give my hair a rest from the hair dryer and curl ng iron. But the problem is I have 3 different grades of hair on my head, which means, every other hair either stands up straight or curls, and it's too soft to stay twisted. By the way, if you're looking for a hairdresser who will respect your natural, m hairdresser, Yari, does natural hair and some hair braiding styles too. She just opened her Salon a few months ago and it is nice, not your typical "black salon place." It's clean and neat and she plays R&B, Jazz, etc, and provides her clients with an as ortment of cookies and serves beverages out of a champagne-looking glass. Let me know if you're interested.
