A little history...

1980. The year I first saw Battle of the planets as a kid.
I thought it was the greatest ever show on tv. Even better than the
Space Sentinels.
I loved BotP. (yeah, yeah I hear you say)
Anyway, it was taken of the BBC around 1985 I think, and it was consigned
to distant memories.

Upon discovering Sci-Fi channel was showing this cartoon called 'G-Force',
I decided to give it a try. I absolutely hated it.
Ace what? Dirk who?? The only thing that wasn't really changed (thank god)
was the Phoenix. I decided to look up BotP on the net.
That's when I discovered Gatchaman (and I regret to say I have never seen it)
and the fact that both BotP and G/F were in fact translations, and not very
accurate ones either...

So, I decided later (1997), that I would give G-Force one more try.
I started taping them, and after a few episodes, I was hooked.
So, after growing accustomed to Ace, Dirk, Aggie, PeeWee and Hootie,
I was glad I gave it another chance.
(dunno whether or not to admit to this, but I actually tap my feet to the backbeat!!!?)
I still wondered about BotP though, and when I got hold of a tape from a guy
on the net, I sat down to watch it with glee...

Man, was I like 'gubbed'. I couldn't believe how bad it actually was.
Don't get me wrong, I still like it from a view of childhood memories,
but the voice dubbing and plots and that ghastly droid thing is totally sick.
I just cant watch it now. It makes me cringe!!!
Yes, a lot of people dont like G-Force, but, in my opinion, it has the better
scripts (even though some of them are corny and predictable), the best
characters and isn't as childish. (If a cartoon can be considered grown up)

So, enough of my ranting, and I hope you enjoy my pages on the best
kick ass fighting force- at least until I get to see Gatchaman!

In my fanfic and on these pages, I have added my own characters, and other goodies, and as such, never (obviously) appeared on the series.
Phoenix II was also created by a fan of Gatchaman.
