Brief History The parish is the most significant architectonic work of Saavedra (the neighbourhood). San Isidro Labrador was inaugurated in 1932 and designed by architect Carlos Massa. Its faade, a copy of the University of Chuquisaca (Bolivia), has an only tower on its left side with a clock and a belfry in it, crowned with an iron Cross. Its dome has an octagonal shape which follows the neo-Byzantine style. Inside the church, a big ceramic work, which Ral Soldi drew in a sketch, represents the birth of Jesus Christ. |
