Langsford Pond, North view, October.

Taken from the bend of the pond looking North.
The rock at lower left juts out from the water in the bend. It can be seen in the left in the East view picture.
The pile of sticks in the middle is the beaver lodge. Normally not more than five feet above water level, but the pond has sunk about three feet (you can just distinguish a dark line running across the bushes at that level.)
The floating matter is the root system of the water lilies, normally floating just below the surface, but now exposed because of the water level drop.
