My Dearest Juniors and Seniors (and interested parties),

Sorry the newsletter is late this month.
But I've got some exciting news I've got to share now:

Any Junior (Class of '07) or Senior (Class of '08) can work towards receiving
their Louisiana Diploma. The program is called "Distance Diploma." That means
you'll be required to have your 23 "Carnegie Units" (see September Newsletter
for more details about required courses) and pass the Math, English and either
Science or Social Studies parts of the LEAP/GEE. If you are missing one or more
parts of the GEE you can register to take the test online starting this January.

To register to receive your Louisiana Diploma, you must go online with the
counselor at your new school to www.louisianaschools.net

On the left of that website look for the "Info for Students" and
select "Distance Diploma." There is information for you and your parents to
read along with an online form for your counselor to fill out with you. That
will get you registered in the database.

Abramson will be handing out diplomas this year!! Make sure to get registered -
and tell all your friends (and teachers tell any students you're in contact
with). More information will follow in the December Newsletter.

Miss you all...

Best,
Ms. Spreter
