The Skwlax Resort is located on Little Shuswap Indian Band territory. Members of the Secwepemc Nation, whose traditional area occupies south central BC. between the Shuswap and Little Shuswap Lakes. The name “Skwlax” means black bear.

About the Skwlax Resort

The Skwlax Resort is home to the Shuswap Cultural interpretive center. The interpretive center contains the Secwepemc culture and history of the people. The interpretive center building has a gathering room with historical displays.

The campground includes a traditional winter home “Kekuli“, for viewing. Summer homes “Tipi’s” are available to rent for a traditional experience.

The campground contains 30 tent sites/20 RV sites, picnic, playground, restrooms, shower areas and day parking to accommodate 30 vehicles .
