With only emergency lamps lighting the whole of Claro M. Recto Hall of the Faculty Center in the University of the Philippines-Diliman on June 26, the forum-book launch of Mula Tore Patungong Palengke: Neoliberal Education in the Philippines exudes the message of the book: the Philippine education is facing a dim future.
Aiming to present the state of education in the Philippines and the effects of neoliberal ideology, the event was attended by personalities from inside and outside the academe. Among them were Prof. Edberto Villegas, Prof. Danilo Arao, Prof. Sarah Raymundo, Jonnabelle Asis, Dr. Giovanni Tapang and Clodualdo Abrera, all of whom contributed in the ?5-essay-book. Also present were editors Bienvenido Lumbera, Ramon Guillermo and Arnold Alamon.
Mula Tore Patungong Palengke was published by IBON Foundation, CONTEND and ACT.
