Jaegar/Haunter  Gingernuts

2 cups plain flour
1 cup castor sugar
1 small egg
1 pinch salt
Teaspoon of golden syrup
125g butter
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

Pre-heat the oven to about 180 degrees Celsius. ("moderately slow")

Sift flour, sugar, ginger, cinnamon and bicarb into a bowl.  Break egg into a bowl and whisk the golden syrup in until it's of an even consistency.  Soften butter in microwave and rub into dry mixture until there are no lumps left.  Pour the egg/syrup mixture into this, mix in until it's hopefully one large ball of dough.

Separate and roll into small pieces.  Place on baking tray, cook in oven for about 15 minutes or until they start to go too brown around the edges (it depends on whether you have a fan forced etc.).

They should come out as lovely half-dome shaped biscuits which are incredibly yummy.  Definitely my all-time favourite recipe.
