TASK TWO: MACBETH |
Part 1: What will your Macbeth look like? |
OK, folks, it's time to get down to the nitty-gritty. How are you going to portray the character of Macbeth in your graphic novel? I've included some pictures here to fire your imaginations. Don't worry; this will be fun! |
Hey, Macbeth was Scottish, right? |
Look, it's Mel Gibson!! |
Ooops! No, sorry guys. It's just Macbeth. |
Hmmm....maybe we should go Medieval? |

Macbeth, done George Washington-style. |
Yep, filmmaker Orson Welles was one crazy cat. But I really dig the crown, don't you? |
Here's an Elizabethan Macbeth, complete with frilly neck-ruffs. |
Here's a slightly Medieval-looking Macbeth...holding a very modern drinking container. (See, you can mix things up!) |
But, wait! Macbeth was also a soldier! Let's go Military! |

"We heard there was a job opening for 'Despotic Totalitarian Ruler who kills rivals without the slightest provocation' - where can we apply?" |
Looks like an American soldier, circa WWII. |
Well, this might be taking patriotism a little too far... |
From the totally modern to the totally "out there"... |

Japanese Macbeth? |
Macbeth as "Wolverine" - nice horns, man! |
Part 2: Your "Macbeth" |
Now that you have seen some images of Macbeth, you can create your own! I encourage you to use your imaginations! Write a character study of Macbeth - what age will he be, how does he dress, what does he look like? This character study will be included in your proposal. You must also include descriptions of the minor characters in your act - Banquo and Duncan, for example. Use these pictures as inspiration!! |
