She had fame and fortune, but she let things get to her and ended up with a bad drug problem. Don't count out just yet. After all the problems she had with drugs she overcame it and was starting fresh but sadly she was needed by a higher being.

Whitney Houston was born Whitney Elizabeth Houston to Cissy Houston and John Russell Houston on August 9, 1963 in Newark, New Jersey. She was brought up as a gospel singer. Whitney Houston had an unbelievable singing voice. When she would sing it was as if an agel were singing you a lullaby. Well, besides her one of a kind voice, Whitney also had good looks. She was also a model. Fast forward many years Whitney Houston is known for her voice, looks, and acting. Yes acting. But tragedy struck when Ms.Houston passed away February 11, 2012. She was only 48 years young. Today she would've been 50.

In her whole career Whitney Houston has been in 5 movies. They are The Bodyguard (1992), Waiting To Exhale (1995), The Preacher's Wife (1996), Cinderella (1997), and her final film Sparkle (2012). Sparkle was a film that was hard for some Whitney fans to watch due to the fact it came out six months after her passing plus it was one of the last things she did before her leaving.

Whitney did get married to American R&B singer-songwriter Bobby Brown in 1992. They were married for 15 years. They separated in 2007. In their marriage the two had one child. On March 4, 1993 the couple welcomed Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown. Whitney planned on having more kids after Bobbi Kristina but Whitney wasn't able to hold them for the full nine months. This was an side effect of her doing drugs.

Even though Whitney has had issues in the past she did do things some artist hasn't done. For example in 2009 she received the Guinness World Record for receiving the most awards to any female artist and and she was one of the top payed artist in the late 80's.
