About Me

image of Aurora Aguiniga My name is Aurora Aguiñiga. My last name is often mispronounced, so do not struggle too much with it.

I was born June 27th 1991 in Mexico City but for the most part I have lived in Chicago. I grew up with my mom and one older sister.

I am a full-time student and in order to pay for school I am also a full-time worker.
One thing I absolutely love to do is go on long walks with my dog at Humboldt Park during the summer. I adopted Brownie about three years ago, he is a Shih-tzu Maltese mix.

I also really like to travel even though I don't get to do it too often since it is expensive. So far I have traveled to Boston MA, Savannah GA, New York City NY, Mexico City, Acapulco and Cancun.

Another of my personal interests is coffee. I am a self-taught barista who loves to drink and make caffeinated beverages. I also like to visit a lot of cafes and coffee shops.
Since I am double majoring in Accounting and Business Management I would like to attain a job as food and beverage manager preferably before graduation or after.

I want to focus on food and beverage because of my short and long term goals. My short term goal is to gain a lot of experience in keeping the books for a restaurant as well as being able to manage it. The reason I want to do this because my long term goal is to own my own coffee shop/cafe/restaurant. As I mentioned before, I am a coffee lover and I really want to share my love of making caffeinated drinks with others by owning my own coffee shop.
