'Once upon a time, there was a princess crying because her parents have died. A prince comes and told her not to cry. He gave her a ring saying it will help her find him one day. She was so impressed by the prince that she vowed to grow up and be a prince herself' All right, now Utena is all grown up and is attending highschool or middle school (sorry). She wears a boy uniform and always get mocked by the teacher. (Still, she is very popular among the girls) Anyways, she later meets these duelist. They all wear the same ring that she wears. They all fight over the 'rose bride'. She is a sweet girl - seem so. The winner of the dual will 'own' her and she must do whatever they want. Utena wins several dual and now possesses the rose bride. She and the rose bride soon become close friends. But what is the secret of the rose bride? What do they mean by revolutionize? How does all thisconnect to Utena? A strangely romantic story of love, hate, and betrayal!

The animation is average. At some point it seems to improve though. Most of the scenes you will see are fighting scenes.

Some themes are quite catchy. While others are just average. Average score for this one.

This series might seem strange to you at first. And at some point can be very annoying. You might be confuse at most points. The story goes from serious to all out crazy and then back to romantic scenes and of all different sort.. Most of the episodes gave me an emptiness. But then, I think it is still worth watching...
