Earthlight: NASA - Spectacular Views of...FLOATING HUNDREDS OF MILES ABOVE THE EARTH -
Load this disc into your computer or DVD player, sit back, relax, and luxuriate in EARTHLIGHT'S beautiful digital video and original 5.1-channel instrumental music. It's heaven!
The Right Stuff (Two-Disc Special..."Philip Kaufman's intimate epic about the Mercury astronauts (based on Tom Wolfe's book) was one of the most ambitious and spectacularly exciting movies of the 1980s...The Right Stuff chronicles NASA's efforts to put a man in orbit. Such an achievement would be the first step toward President Kennedy's goal of reaching the moon, and, perhaps most important of all, would win a crucial public relations/morale victory over the Soviets, who had delivered a stunning blow to American pride by launching Sputnik, the first satellite."
Mars-The Red Planet Collection "Very intriguing and definitely worth the pruchase if you are interested in the red planet and the prospects of a possible manned mission there in the near future...it focuses on the who, how, when, where, and why will humans one day within the next thirty years or so take a manned mission to Mars. It goes through a simulated journey, describing the mission, the type of spacecraft, the dangers involved, the crew, the time-frame, etc. There is some nice bonus material in the DVD too, such as a slide show of actual photographs of the red planet taken both from space and from the surface. "
Red Planet "Unlike Apollo 13, Mission to Mars, Armageddon and even Deep Impact, this movies takes you straight into the all action mission. Carrie Anne Moss is a very strong character throughout the film and is not thrown into the background by a Matrix style hero. Red Planet is fun because it's about people and how they deal with the problems they're thrown into."
Apollo 13 - DTS NASA's worst nightmare turned into one of the space agency's most heroic moments in 1970, when the Apollo 13 crew was forced to hobble home in a disabled capsule after an explosion seriously damaged the moon-bound spacecraft. Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, and Bill Paxton play (respectively) astronauts Jim Lovell, Jack Swigert, and Fred Haise in director Ron Howard's intense, painstakingly authentic docudrama. The Apollo 13 crew and Houston-based mission controllers race against time and heavy odds to return the damaged spacecraft safely to Earth from a distance of 205,500 miles.
The X-Files - The Complete Seventh Season "Don`t believe the hype. This is a great season. I just love it.
I own seasons 1-7 and spent just over $1000 to complete my collection so far. You should buy what you like."
Pitch Black (Rated Version) "I liked it because the special effects were decent, particularly the eclipse scene, and the opening scene is pretty cool too. I thought Frye was pretty cute and the australian actors were a nice touch. There are some definite tense moments as well as a couple of "what the hell are they doing?" moments."
Textbook on Spherical Astronomy "If you are interested in any subject of position astronomy (motion of the moon, stellar navigation, astrometry, etc.) you must start by reading this book. It contains from the basic formulas of spherical trigonometry to the full explanation of the conditions necesary to observe a solar eclipse, or principles of star parallax measurement." - A reader from Germany.
