Common Peafowl
Pavo cristatus
Protected in the north by local sentiment. Common in the
MRI campus.
Occasionally, one will be attracted by its reflection in the institute
windows, and will either admire or fight it. The latter involves barging into the window
and dealing an ear-shattering blow to it with the beak. It is surprising the glass
doesn't shatter!
